RIA compliance software pricing: what each vendor publishes
Who publishes a price, and who quotes after a demo.
Of the 9 vendors below, one puts a price on their own website: Luna Compliance. Every other vendor quotes after a demo or a sales conversation, and the figures that circulate for them come from trade press, buying services and resellers rather than from the vendor. Luna's prices are first, then a table of what each vendor publishes and the most specific figure we could find for the rest, with its source and the day we read it.
Luna's published pricing
The same numbers as the pricing page, which is the only place they are set. Annual billing is 10 months' worth. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial and no card; nothing requires a demo.

What each vendor publishes
“Yes” means a price is on the vendor's own website, which anyone can check. Where a third party has reported a figure, the row says who, and the figure is theirs, not the vendor's.

Why most vendors don't publish prices
Most compliance vendors quote after a demo because the price depends on the firm: headcount, the number of registered entities, the modules chosen, data retention and contract length all move it, and several sell consulting alongside the software. Quotes vary by firm size, so a single list price would be wrong for many buyers, and they publish none. The result is that a firm cannot compare prices without a sales conversation, which is why we collected what is published here.
Questions
How much does Hadrius cost?
Hadrius does not publish a price: hadrius.com has no pricing page, and its master services agreement says fees are set in each Order Form after a demo. InvestmentNews lists Hadrius pricing as available on request, so the only way to learn the number is to ask.
How much does Smartria cost?
Smartria does not publish a price: smart-ria.com/pricing offers "customized pricing" and a demo, and InvestmentNews lists it as custom pricing. We found no figure on any page we could read, so budget on a quote.
Hadrius vs Smarsh: which do I need?
They do different jobs: Smarsh captures and archives communications, while Hadrius sells marketing review, communications surveillance and personal trading oversight, and neither publishes a price. A firm that needs only a books and records archive is shopping in Smarsh's category, a firm that needs review workflows is shopping in Hadrius's, and Luna's Firm and Firm Plus plans include both at the prices on its pricing page.
What does RIA email archiving cost?
Few vendors say: a Global Relay reseller lists $10 to $15 per user per month with a 10-user minimum and a $995 setup fee, and SpendHound reports an average Smarsh spend of $7,427 a year among customers of 50 to 1,000 employees. Luna includes email archiving in its Firm and Firm Plus plans, at the prices on its pricing page.
Does Luna negotiate pricing?
No: every firm pays the prices on the pricing page, and the only saving is annual billing, which is the same for everyone. For scopes above Firm Plus, bring a written quote from another compliance software platform for substantially the same modules and users and Luna will beat it.
Every Luna price is on the page. Start today, or read them first.
